We know where to buy our next home to get the most home exchange offers. As discussed earlier this week we will research the most popular destinations for travelers in the region that interests us. We saw that some of those places were cost-prohibitive, like New York City. Others, like Detroit, have a high crime rate, or a harsh climate. But we can find attractive home exchange home bases in all areas of the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Travelers visit these popular destinations for many reasons. Some are historic areas like Philadelphia and Boston. Others have great natural beauty, for instance the Great Smokey Mountains. Travelers are eager to experience cultural opportunities like New York City's Broadway Theaters or world-class museums. There is another reason some places get more visitors than others.
The shortest explanation is "Disney". Four of the world's most visited cities are those containing Disney Theme Parks. Anaheim, California; Orlando, Florida; Tokyo, Japan; and Marne La Vallee, France. If you want to live in a warm climate and have lots of home exchange requests, a condo in Anaheim or Orlando (or nearby communities like Kissimee, FL) would be an ideal retirement home base.
The same logic applies to buying a home in the country. Yosemite Park in California, the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee, Canada's Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon in Arizona are natural attractions located in rural areas with relatively inexpensive homes.
Home exchangers seem to be more adventurous and sophisticated than the average traveler. The sheer number of visitors to wildly popular attractions means that even if only a small fraction of those travelers are home exchangers you will have a steady stream of offers for your nearby home.
When looking for a home, you can stack the deck in favor of home exchange offers. Instead of trying to highlight reasons swappers should consider visiting your area, pick a location they already flock to and buy your home there.
Buy a home near something people want to visit and you will get so many home exchange offers you may never have time to visit your own town's most popular local attraction.
