A home exchange can be even more rewarding when the swappers' lifestyle is different from your own.

We live in a typical apartment. Thanks to home exchange we now know what it would be like if we lived in a loft, a 1-room studio, a chateau, historic home and so on.

Home exchange makes for a great vacation. It can also be a valuable experience if you are considering the purchase of a new home.

Home exchange is an easy way to experience living in a different style of home. We found out, when on home exchange vacations, that loft and open-floorplan living can be noisy with young children.

Several times we have had two-story exchange homes larger than 3,000 square feet and found we never needed the upper level. This showed us the size of home that would work best for our family if we were buying a new place.

Try a swap home that is the opposite of your own. It might be a pleasant surprise.
