What's Up in Europe?

Some kind of switch got flipped in southern Europe recently. Over the past week I have received a dozen offers from home exchangers in Spain and France requesting swaps.

That despite the fact that I note in 3 different places in my listing that I am not interested in travel to any European country at this time.

One of the places I note this is the headline, so even if the exchanger isn't considerate enough to read my listing, s/he cannot help but see the information.

Still, the offers pour in. I purposely put an un-needed space in the word "Europe" so I don't inadvertantly appear in searches as someone who is interested in that area. Doesn't help.

Nor does my request for "2+ bedroom homes only". Today I was offered a 540 square foot studio in Barcelona and a 650sf 1-bedroom in Paris.

I can hardly see myself shoehorning 2 parents, our son, our daughter and their grandfather into such a small apartment, even if it were located someplace we wanted to go.

Offers from people who clearly don't read my listing go right into my "Bad" folder.

Should I stop replying to inappropriate offers? I have had readers complain that they get few responses. Yet I had to write five emails today to people who didn't care enough to even read the headline of my listing. Now all those strangers have my email address.

If you have a solution to this, please let me know.
