Best Mobile Phone for Vacation

Next month my 2-year mobile phone contract expires and I will definitely be switching carriers.


Here in the USA, the only way to get a snazzy new phone for free is to enter into a 2-year contract with a single cellular provider.


When those two years are over your current mobile company will reward your continued loyalty with a crummy free phone, or an expensive phone you might actually want, but only for another 2 year commitment.


The only way to get a good phone at a decent discount is to change service providers. The cellular communications industry is one of the few I can think of where consumers are rewarded for being fickle.


There are a few features travelers, and especially home exchangers, should look for in a mobile handset. Let's look at those in more detail.
