SCARING AWAY THE HOME EXCHANGERS

There's not much that scares me any more when it comes to home exchange, but I was nervous the last time I sent an email to a potential swap partner. We have had a change in our household since the last time I arranged a home exchange. We added a family member who may prevent us from ever swapping homes again. She's only eight inches long, she's green, and she flies. Eureka is a tiny, quiet parrot and we may never be able to swap our home again.

I have never had to arrange a swap with our little parrot in residence and I did not know how the swappers would take the idea of sharing space with her. Eureka is a green-cheeked conure, a parrot species often referred to as "the apartment parrot" because they are quieter than other parrots. Some people don't like birds, however, or want to do pet care when on vacation.

How would our potential swap partner react to news of our feathered friend?
