Northern California is one of my favorite places. It doesn't take much to convince me to spend a week in a gorgeous exchange home in the rolling hills of Napa or Sonoma county. But I was just offered a swap that includes an extra "perk" which sweetens the deal irresistibly.
WHAT WE OFFER
A swapper with a home near the Silverado Trail wineries wants to come here during his daughter's Spring Break from high school. She is a theater buff and we are able to get the family complimentary tickets to a Broadway show.
WHAT THEY OFFER
The California family is doing us a favor as well. They own a child care center. While we are out tasting the local vintages, our exchange partner has agreed to let our children participate in the pre-school program! If they had been older he offered them places in a summer day camp he runs from the fitness center he owns. Oh, and we get passes to his huge new gym complex as well.
Built-in child care? I know where we will be spending our next vacation!
A NEW AGREEMENT
This exchange will be my 36th swap in the 18 years I have been exchanging homes as an adult (four additional families have used their half of non-simultaneous exchanges at our place but we have yet to complete the trade).
It marks a milestone for me. For the first time in almost two decades of home exchange I will be completing a contract! I'll let you know why, and how, we're doing this in a future post.
