Swap Pets

The best souvenir I ever brought back from a home exchange was a little something I picked up in a quaint New England farmers' market.

That very little something was a genuine "purebred" Vermont Barn Cat, one in a long line of champion mousers.

Unfortunately for our ferocious little tortoiseshell, we don't get mice in our high-rise city apartment. Wait, maybe we do and I just don't know it thanks to Kitty's efficient work.

The cat has not been outside these four walls since the day I brought her home from being spayed. Kittens who are never outside as adults don't miss it.

There's something weird we do to our cat. If you have a pet and want to do home exchange, you need to do it too. Next time I'll tell you what that is.
