Finding an On-going Swap Partner

We hosted a blended family from Montreal for a non-simultaneous home exchange. The new couple each had a child from a previous relationship. Their house was large enough for our family and we hoped the swap would go well so we could potentially do repeat exchanges with them.

They left the house in good shape, with a kind note and a thoughtful gift. They also followed up with an email after the exchange to make sure we were satisfied.

All of this was good home exchange etiquette, especially because these were first-time exchangers. I give new people more leeway to make mistakes because they may not know what is expected.

We were very happy with these swappers and could definitely see creating an on-going swap partnership with them.

But once again, life got in the way....
