The Ideal Exchange Partner

The only Montreal exchange home we had found that might work for yearly swaps now contained a newborn. Her parents were taking a break from home exchange, as we could well understand.

Two attempts to set up a repeat swap failed due to changing life circumstances on the Montrealers' part, and on ours too.

That's when we were offered an even bigger and grander house in a new part of Montreal.

The exchangers were a new couple and they seemed very much in love. A simultaneous swap to Montreal is no longer an option for our family as my father now lives with us.

This is another example of the ways changing life circumstances can impact home exchange options.

Dad likes to vacation someplace warm and Montreal doesn't fit the bill so he won't accompany us to Canada.

We were going on a cruise so we offered our home to the Quebec couple with the understanding that we would use their home on a future weekend. But life would again get in the way....
