PICKING ON-GOING SWAP PARTNERS

With our ideal repeat exchange partners expecting a baby, we started considering other offers to trade our home for one in Montreal. The fact that we were trying to find a situation where we could trade with the same family once each year or more meant we were more picky about the homes we considered.

We came pretty close to confirming with a family in a suburb of Montreal. Their home was large enough for the two of us, our two children and their grandfather. It had a yard for the kids to play in (a novel feature for our urban offspring) and the exchangers offered the use of their car. But because the home was quite far from the areas of Montreal that we like to visit we decided to pass on it. It was not an ideal home for our needs.

Soon, though, we received an offer for a large Victorian house with a pool. It looked amazing in the photographs on the home exchange listing. Could these people be good prospects for an on-going home exchange partnership?
