The Right Time to Swap

When we found good swap partners with a large, well-situated home in our favorite destination we were eager to develop an on-going home exchange partnership with them. But life kept getting in the way.

They live in montreal's Plateau district, an area we like to visit often. In turn, they enjoy traveling to Manhattan, where we live, several times per year.

When my mother passed away, however, their request for a repeat exchange had to go on hold for two years.

The next time we made contact was when I asked them for a long weekend exchange. We were disappointed to hear that they could not make the trip but happy for them when we discovered it was their pregnancy that was impeding their travel plans.

It had been three years since our first exchange with the Montreal family and it was looking like there might never be another one....
