Swap New York City

San Francisco is prettier, Miami is sunnier, but almost no place is in as much demand as a home swap location than my home town.

That's not because we have the United States' highest concentration of cultural institutions, world-class theaters and historic architecture, though we do.

It all boils down to the obscene cost of a Manhattan hotel room. Here, a night's stay for $200 including the huge occupancy tax, is considered cheap. The average room runs more like $400 per night.

Home exchange removes this unappealing hurdle to visiting the Big Apple. We will look at some tips to up your odds of getting a NYC exchange home whenever you want to spend some time here.

For better or worse, you will learn to think like a New Yorker to grab the pick of Big Apple's crop of exchange homes.

If the tips in upcoming articles work for you call me when you get here so we can go out for a drink and celebrate!
