Picking the Spot for Your Free Summer Vacation

Summer is here! How about a week at the Montreal jazz fest? Maybe you would prefer to frolic on a beach. Or would you like to attend concerts at New York City's world famous Lincoln Center?



That all sounds expensive and many of us are watching our pennies these days. Don't worry, you can vacation this summer and actually end up saving money over staying home.



Can home exchange really help you live more cleaply on vacation? It can, with a little careful planning.



When I started home exchanging "vacation" meant Europe to me. These days the exchange rate between the dollar and the euro makes a transatlantic vacation a poor way to allocate vacation funds.



This summer we have five weeks of home exchange planned. We are staying closer to home but still seeing amazing new things.
