Peak Home Exchange Season

The summer is over! Did you do any home exchange trips?

This summer will stand out for me as a huge milestone in our lives as home swappers. It marked both our best vacation staying in the homes of other families, and, ironically, the end of our prolific home exchange travels.

We found a way to balance the needs of three adults with differing travel styles, and to meet the needs of two small children while home exchanging around the globe.

Now our love of home exchange travel has met its toughest adversaset. Our love of home exchange is newly rekindled by swaps in Napa and Vancouver that were the pinnacle of home exchange prefection. But even that excitement is no match for the structures of the New York City public school attendance rules.

We bid a sad adieu to vacation flexibility for now. Keep us posted on your home exchange adventures. Except for two weeks in December and two more in August, the only exchange home we will spend much time in is our own.

They say travel is broadening but graduating from primary school has a lot to recommend it as well.
