INTRODUCING THE HOMEEXCHANGEGURU

Here is an interesting personal site about home exchange:

http://homexchangeguru.com/index.php?page=abouthomeexchange§ion=introduction

The site's creator is named John. He has completed a dozen swaps with his wife Julia and their children. John has done an interesting statistical analysis of various aspects of home exchange. He looked at about 40,000 swap listings and found that about half of the families traveled with children and half did not. There are lots of other interesting tidbits within his statistics. Check out the site for more.

John even mentions this blog on his site:

"One exchanger who has documented her experience...has a blog called Home Exchange Travels. I think she has had two disagreeable results in over 30 exchanges. You can read about them at www.homeexchanger.blogspot.com. My take on her negative experiences was that she might have avoided them with more research, information and/or communication. Nicole does her home exchanges in a different way than my family. This means if you read her blog you will get other views on home exchange than you will find here. She is an expert on home exchange topics that I have no experience with including urban cats, weekend exchanges, and traveling with elderly relatives and small children. You may find her advice superior or more relevant than our ideas."

John raises an interesting point: what is a disagreeable home exchange result? Different people have their own answers to that question and it bears further examination....
