After work on Friday we are heading off on a leaf-peeping swap for the weekend.
Holiday weekend exchanges are a great way to try home exchange.
If your weekend swap goes well you may be hooked. If there are problems you need only cope with them for a few days.
The key to the weekend swap is for it to be close to home. With no expensive airplane reservations or extensive packing you can concentrate on relaxation.
It is easier to meet local swappers before the exchange starts. That way you can make sure you are comfortable with the exchangers and see if their home will work for your family.
We are driving 2 hours north of our city to a quaint country town. I hope the autumn leaves are pretty.
This weekend is our Columbus Day (or as they said when I worked in California, Indiginous Peoples' Day).
In Canada it is Thanksgiving. When different countries have holidays at the same time it can be a great opportunity to travel a bit further.
Whatever you celebrate, have a good one!
