Tourist season has arrived here in New York City. My personal recession-meter is set to notice exactly how many folks are standing on each street corner looking at maps of Manhattan and discussing which way to go in various languages.
It seemed to me that there were more tourists already this year than last. According to public radio, 2010 is shaping up to break the tourism records. New York City is on track to welcome 48 million tourists.
This may be why I have had such a huge increase in swap requests lately. Another reason may be that I note in my swap listing that our dates are completely flexible.
On the other hand, I just got into the apartment for the first time as a lease-holder and measured. It has tall ceilings but wow, is it tiny. Just about 400 square feet. I'm going to post the specific dimensions on our listing page. I want to make sure anyone who is interested knows exactly how small the space is.
Maybe the flood of requests will dry up if exchangers know the apartment's exact size. Doesn't matter to me. I want people to know exactly what is on offer. You don't want an annoyed person to have your house keys. At least, I don't.
